Not sure which one to pick?

I've never seen Dr. Tierney.

Start with a new patient visit, 60 minutes. Everything begins there, virtual or in person.

I've seen her and need to adjust something.

A follow-up, 30 minutes, is the right length for results, refills, and dose changes.

I don't know what I need yet.

Take the free 15-minute discovery call first. No cost, no pitch, and you'll leave knowing which visit fits.

Before you book

A few things worth knowing, so nothing about the visit is a surprise.

How it works

  • Cash-pay. Sorrel doesn't bill insurance. Payment is taken when you book, through the patient portal.
  • Your own doctor stays your doctor. Visit notes go to your primary care doctor on request, so everyone works from the same information.
  • Superbill on request. You may be able to submit it to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies.
  • Virtual is Washington only. You'll need to be physically in Washington at the time of the visit.
  • Messaging between visits is more limited than it is for members.

What to bring

  • Your medications and supplements, including doses.
  • Recent labs, even the ones you were told were normal.
  • A symptom list with dates. When each thing started, how often, how much it gets in the way. You don't have to edit yourself.
  • Cycle history if it's part of the picture. Two or three months of tracking helps.
  • What you've already tried, and what did or didn't help.

Questions people ask

Do I have to leave my current doctor?

No. Non-member visits are designed to work alongside your current doctor, not replace them. Dr. Tierney can send visit notes to your primary care doctor so everyone's working from the same information.

Do you take insurance?

No. Sorrel is cash-pay, which is what buys you a full hour and direct access. Keep your insurance for labs, imaging, prescriptions, and everything else. A superbill is available on request if you'd like to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

What's the difference between a virtual and an in-person visit?

The time and the price are the same. Most menopause and metabolic care can be done well over video, and perimenopause is usually diagnosed by story rather than by bloodwork or exam. Choose in person if an exam or vitals would help, or if you'd simply rather be in the room.

Can I switch to membership later?

Yes, any time. Primary Care+ covers your primary care, menopause care, metabolic health and weight management, and ADHD under one monthly rate. If you switch within 30 days of your first visit, we'll waive the $150 registration fee and your first month's membership.

What if cost is the barrier?

Unfortunately, cash-pay care isn't within reach for everyone. Sorrel holds a small number of need-based membership spots at a reduced or waived monthly fee. If cost is the only thing standing between you and the care you need, reach out about joining the waitlist.

Do you prescribe hormone therapy or GLP-1 medications at a non-member visit?

Where they're appropriate, yes. Dr. Tierney is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner and board certified in obesity medicine, so both are part of ordinary practice here. Fundamentally it depends on your history, and you'll get the benefits and the risks laid out for your situation rather than a yes or no at the door.

If you'll be here regularly, membership may cost you less.

Primary Care+ runs $175 to $250 a month and includes menopause care, metabolic health and weight management, direct messaging, and discounts on labs. That's less than a single follow-up visit.

Get the care you deserve.

Book a visit when you're ready. If you'd rather talk it through first, the free 15-minute discovery call is a good place to start. No pressure either way.
